Sindhu Vee live
For the last two years, I have been watching stand up comedy on youtube almost everyday. I have laughed, learned and laughed again thanks to a very diverse bunch of comedians. This year, I have decided to share my top favourite acts so that even more people laugh and learn!
The first one that cracks me up every time, even though I have probably watched it 100 times, is Sindhu Vee live at the Apollo, in London. Her style, her strong self-awareness, her cultural difference - everything she is - adds to the mix and makes her jokes even funnier.
I even dared sharing this video with my family and we now joke all the time about “drink my blood” when the kids don’t behave properly.
I particularly like the fact that she uses her culture to highlight various parenting techniques without attacking anyone. We could all related to her stories and oh my god, she is funny. She is also very good at keeping the rythme of her act varied and interesting: taking pauses when needed, never losing the eye contact and smile contact with the audience, accelerating to wake us up and taking her time to articulate her punch lines. Brilliant comedy, pure gold.
And remember people, “thug life chose you brah”.
